I can understand it to some degree as my dad plows snow for his lawn customers (and my mom is right there with him) and he was complaining this morning that he hasn't put any snow tires (or the plow so he's not anticipating a lot of snow) on the truck yet and is using last year's salt that he has left over. Hopefully it will mostly be on the grass and not on the roads!!

Hope your prepared. There are 2 stages to this storm with very high winds - a major & historical noreaster. They are pretty sure we will lose electricity with the temperature dropping after heavy rain & then heavy snow starting after dark tonight anywhere from 4 to 12". The leaves still on the trees will bring more limbs & trees down than in a typical snow storm. I think a lot of lawn service guys in my are are not prepared for this.

This is really early for the first snow. It's not just the leaves that haven't dropped, it's all the wet weather we've been having over the summer that will make shallow rooted trees like locusts more likely to fall. I'm keeping fingers crossed that it stays a few degrees warmer than expected. DH usually doesn't prep the snow blower and generator until mid November. We're on a tertiary road on a hill and if we get slippery road surfaces we just have to sit until it gets cleared or it melts.

Snow coming after rain! EEEWWWW! And then if it stays cold!
Drive carefully - if you must.
Otherwise, hunker down at home if you can.
I hate having to drive in that 28 - 34 degree temperature range when it's raining and/or snowing. It's so slippery then.

I just got my power back. It's amazing how much we take things for granted when they're gone. But I didn't get much quilting done as there were walnuts to crack while it was light and I don't trust myself too much to quilt by flashlight. how did you make out girliegirl?
