Quite the racks on these guys. I don't know about elk but my Mom has a problem with deer eating her tulips in the Spring.
Deer also love roses and hibiscus. By the way, so do cows. I have had experience with both in my yard, and I live in Los Angeles!

They are merely taunting the hunters who will be shooting at them when hunting season opens in the Fall. This is one way to get back - ruining the lawns! :-D

They are laying down in the last picture which means they must feel pretty safe in your neighborhood.

They sure do, don't they? Well fed! Glossy coats! The little deer at Valley Forge don't look anywhere near as healthy.

I'd be enchanted to have them around, as long as they don't run me down or attack.

By the way, that's quite a nice looking neighborhood in Helena, Montana.

My grandfather was an Elk. :0)

Wow. Impressive pix. I remember relatives being peeved at deer in their San Fran yard but elk! Oh, my. Wouldn't want one of those giants peeved at me.

That said, my overly brave Chihuahuas would try to eat them. If you could muster up a small dog militia, you might be able to run the Elk out of town.
