Summer Edema
#2
I know you don't like meds or going to the doctor but have you had this check by a dr? Sometimes it can be caused by some pretty serious stuff like heart failure, thyroid disease, a fatty liver (cirrhosis--and that is NOT always caused by drinking), kidney disease, or it can be aggravated by simple things like too much salt, athritis meds, diabetes meds, estrogen, blood pressure meds and so on. PLEASE go talk to your doctor and find out why it is and what to do about it. About the only thing you can do at home is cut down on your salt intake and when laying down keep your arms and legs above your heart UNLESS that causes you to be short of breath if that happens then SEE YOUR DOCTOR. Support hose might help but who wants to wear those things in the summertime.
And no, I'm not a dr. or a nurse---I looked it up on the internet.

I had a spring time break out but not so severe as yours. My grandmother called it Tether. I would break out, only on my right hand every spring with horrible red welts that itched like crazy. She said I would out grow it and around my 30's it stopped and has never came back. I have no idea what it was.

Let's hope that it will be easily taken care of.

I get edema year round.
I have this growth....that I sit on, especially at this computer, and it tends to put pressure on my thighs,
which are not the slender beauties they used to be, so they put pressure on my legs, which are not all that, these days, and they put pressure on a couple of basketballs that i walk on.
Ever try to put shoes on basketballs? it's fun...not!
