I had left knee replacement a yr ago -was getting better then during pool therapy I hurt right knee . Had cortisone but doesn't seemed to have helped. Some days are better than other re pain. Don't walk long distances and don't know what else to do. After the surgery I could not take any pain meds due to allergies so I don't want right knee surgery .

It might be easier to push the foot pedal with your heel than with your toe. I read somewhere that the design of the pedal on the Featherweight was actually intended to be used that way, and it looks quite similar to other foot pedals.
Another option to consider might be switching feet. It might not be hard to do at all after the initial peculiarity of it.
If you've ever driven a clutch, you know that your left foot can do a lot of pedaling. Or, your pedal could possibly be mounted to the side of your good knee and used that way. The first machine I learned to sew on had a knee lever and that seemed like the normal way for a long time.
Speedy recovery!

Hi. I had three knee replacement surgeries 5 years ago. To me, miracle surgery. I would not be able to walk today if I had not done so. It took me quite some time to feel well enough to sew.... to much standing and sitting and standing and sitting. It took a while to be pain free to stand and sit. But, keep at your therapy and you will be good as new!!!
