Taking The TExas Heat
#22
My son moved to Austin 2 years ago and his first summer was one of the hottest on record. I asked him if that was a deal breaker and he said no, but he wasn't leaving the house, or the A/C, unless he had to!!

Have a brother in Lago Vista TX, he said he would never move back to Wis. But we talked to him the other day and he said, "It wasn`t to bad, he could open a window in the evenning and get a breeze from Lago Vista lake, that was until the lake dried up", We have been having a real hot and wet summer here in Wisconsin too.

Cute!!
It's hot enough in Texas to make the devil sweat! In other words...it's hotter than you know where!!
I see lots of postings on Facebook everyday of pictures friends have taken of temperature readings around town. The heat this year has been ridiculous and the forecasts aren't showing any signs of relief. Walking in a parking lot is like walking through an oven. And we still have most of August to go. In fact, if often doesn't really cool down until well into September or even October. We are starting to hear more about conserving water and conserving electricity to avoid rolling blackouts which we don't normally see in our area. I am already dreading my electric bill next month.
But, all that being said, I still LOVE TEXAS and wouldn't want to live anywhere else!!!

I have lived all over the world and wouldn't live anywhere else while my mom and MIL are alive but seriously thinking of moving someplace cooler and closer to the west coast. LOL. For now, too much family here. This to will pass...LOL
Out here in the country we are not effected by the rolling blackouts and water etc. But the electric bill will be higher for sure. We do the twelve month average so it should average out not not hurt as bad. Just saying.
I agree 90 would feel like a cool front here. 8-)
