It looks like it is going to be a long cold winter this year - yesterday, in the Ozarks, that wind was blowing HARD, and it hurt the skin with such low temps! We HAVE to leave today to mail things, go to the store and are NOT looking forward to it. Gasoline is 279.9 so we are TRYING to conserve. But the GOOD news - IF the weathermen are right----yeah---right----- that the high is suppose to reach 35. We shall see! - stay warm

Strange weather all over the country, for sure! Here in Colorado--out of the mountains--it is sunny and in the 60's for the next few days! The mountains, of course, are buried in feet of fresh powder! We love it--snow for the skiers, and no snow for us "townies!"

It was down to 14 degrees when I went to work this am. School called off due to the low temps. Wind chill factor at minus 10. Drove DH truck to work this a.m. heater takes longer to heat up than my drive to work and no, I do not preheat the vehicles, I start and I go.

My sister and brother in law went to Pensacola to get away from the coldfront predicted for their hometown of Estill Springs, Tn. It seems Florida got the same coldfront. Poor Canada got similar temperatures but with blizzard conditions. Remember the commercial...don't mess with Mother Nature?

The Smokies are covered with snow and beautiful! We had 10 this morning and 12 for tomorrow. High was 26 with sun. Tomorrow will be snow, then ice, then rain by Thursday AM. We're headed to FL Monday if I get the motorhome packed! Maybe it will warm up by then.

This is our second night of below freezing temps. It was already below freezing at 7p.m. It's going to be a long, cold night! :|

Somebody please keep that cold front from from coming to Alaska. Up until recently we have had a great Fall. But now it is getting cold here too. 15° here right now at 8:30PM. I imagine the old monster (severe winter) will get us before its over though.
Ditter, my husband and I had a good laugh over your little quote.
