I got 11 out of 12..fit as a fiddle. My parents grew up Mid-Missouri and I spent quite a bit of my summer vacations down there staying with grandparents (cause I wanted to have fun with my cousins). The pop got me, I still remember asking what kind of "pop" at my cousin's house when asked if I wanted a "soda". I guessed at the Sun shining through the rain....never heard of that. Even today I will say things my Missourian relatives would say. Ya'll is one of them. So ya'll have a great Thanksgiving..whenever you celebrate.

Friends and family in 'south' though...they love to poke fun at us with Yooper accents
She asked me to "run to the store and get me some "needles". I asked what size. She said small. So I got small sewing needles. Here she was saying "noodles". Yup. Still comes up every holiday

"The devil beating his wife for a clean shirt" meant THUNDER in my part of WVa and coke meant Coke, pop was the rest of those carbonated beverages although 'soda' is the older name (from 'soda water' which was dispensed by the soda jerk at from the soda fountain) and 'pop' came from the sound removing the top made after carbonated beverages began to be bottled............When Tennessee Ernie Ford said "Bless yer little pea pickin' heart" on TV we thought he was saying something nice. Buggies might convey infants, groceries or be pulled by a horse.
