We finally got a relief from the political ads. Now we are bombarded with Christmas sales. Pre, pre-black Friday specials. It's stores trying to purge their inventory......Geeeeeezz

The only sale I'm concerned about is the baking stuff at the grocery store. I'm waiting for butter to go on sale @ 3 for $5.00......COOKIES

Yep - the stores, who are always after the $, have their Christmas out by Halloween - even before that.

Thanksgiving is wedged in between all that candy and all those gifts, no wonder it's hard to have a holiday that is devoted to giving thanks when there isn't anything the stores have to sell except turkeys. I wish they would give Thanksgiving the time and respect it deserves. If you have family and a meal before you, you are indeed blessed, many don't have either. So sad.

I know everyone always says it, but I swear Christmas stuff was out earlier this year than last year. I love Christmas more than anything, but it's losing it's specialness by making the "season" longer and longer.
I think I saw Halloween and Christmas being put out at the same time in my local JoAnn!!

Gift of meat? Can I be on your list?
Food has always been a welcome gift, giving and receiving the homemade gifts that made us all feel so loved. It was not the price of the gift it was the thought of being remembered.
    Thank you for sharing,Christina
And Please have holidays filled with love and happiness

AMEN ! Thanksgiving is the one day that all of our family gets together. One grandsonn will be absent because of a job with the SanFrancisco 49'ers and California is a long way from Michigan and they play ball on turkey day.

We have grown to a size to need to rent a hall, but everyone pitches in and it's great.

We always include several "adopted" families that have become a part of our lives.

What great day to count our blessings and enjoy good food and fellowship.

I love Thanksgiving, whether we are at home or eat out. I too am among those who refuse to shop on black Friday. My life and sanity are worth more than any store-bought gift. I will be home sewing all that week, and thinking about all my blessings. My best to all of you and your families, and may we all have lots to be thankful for. :D

it never left. Don't count on stores to provide a moral compass. Don't count on school books to tell the story either.

It's as good as any other day to give thanks and share. A date to get together and love each other if you need one.
