I have been waiting for the " Joplin" lady to sign in .
I live winters in Bonita Springs , Fl and a friend of mine
Marilyn L is from Joplin. I don't know that area but it made for good conversation.

It can be done. Just get ready to be tested. You'll see that fabric you have been looking for and every store will have a sale. There is a group called Stashbusters that post how many yards of fabric they use from their stash and how many they buy. You could post how many yards used and how many days without buying. Good luck.

What she said. ;) It's theraputic. If I didn't buy fabric, I'd have to start drinking or smoking or eating too many calories. Buying more fabric is a healthier choice. :D

I went on a buying fast last year, and also for most of this year but did recently succumb to clearance fabrics at Connecting Threads.

You know, since I started on this board, it has been easier to not buy fabric. I spend too much time reading, and not enough time quilting!

I tried it once, made it the month, but after the last day of that month fast, was right back at it with gusto!

Oh gee, I succumbed again on Black Friday at Joann fabrics, buying way too much flannel at $1.29yd but who could resist such a wonderful sale?

Hubby told me to buy what I want/need so that he didn't have to stand in line for 2 hrs again and that next year I can go by myself, LOL. I love it when he goes with me cuz he always gives me permission to spend more than I would if it were only me, I'm super frugal. The only reason he went this time was cuz we had to take my car in for a 'recall' servicing and Joanns was about 2 miles away. Gratefully the dealership called as we were getting in his truck to say that my car was ready. Not that IS good timing!

I have enough fabric to definitely go 3 months without buying; six months - maybe; a year - oh, definitely not.

I have enough scraps that I'm about to advertise here to see if they can gain new homes. ;)
