I just discovered why I (and others) can't get the cute shortcuts using the ALT key plus numbers. My laptop computer does not have the number pad on the right side, only vertically. My husband's laptop has the keypad and he got them right away. Does anyone know of a setting that we could 'convert' our computers to accept those fun symbols?

i have a mac leopard with a right-side number keypad and the numbers above the letters and i still can't do it.

life is too short to worry about it.

and I just saved it to my desktop, so can go to it and just copy and paste them when I ready to use them
