    Unhappy Thread +coffee+early AM sewing=diaster

Have a small spool of white thread in my hand. Bumped my coffee mug. Spool fell into coffee. Rinsed the spool but definately have to wash whatever I sew with coffee flavored thread. Did I mentioned this happened 4:00 AM? Luckily not a full spool. Lesson learned. Watch where I place that "required for sewing" cup of coffee! OH...I always have cream in my coffee.

I'd be wondering if the coffee stain would come out of the white thread, or even stain the fabric it was going to be against. I'd probably toss it.

I learned long ago, no drinks or food anywhere near the quilting things.

I bet its a pretty color. You might have started a new dying technique here! Something to think about!

I was thinking the same! The only time I'm up at 4 am is when I'm having trouble sleeping and then I certainly am not in a state to even think about quilting.

I understand getting up early to sew - it's quiet, and nice to watch the sun rise and the birds are chirping. I used to do it, I would wake up and unable to go back to sleep so I would just get up.

My insomina got worse when I quilt working. Normal time for me to wake up is 4:00ish but I go to bed early. This gives me lots of time to make messes in my sewing room!
