In 2012 I want to finish up at least a few of my many UFOs. Also have a paper pieced project called Falling Leaves I would like to get back to. That one alone may take me all year. Of course I will work on charity quilts all year too.

when the machine is no longer available it's time for a small hand project- you can sit & sew while you watch tv- or wait for what ever- you can put together a little travel kit with everything you need - a tin or even a ziplock bag- a tuperware container- anything that will hold needles, thread, pins, little scissors and your fabrics...there are so many great projects to work on when the sewing room is (re-purposed)

Yeah! So glad you have your Christmas gifts done. I just finished mine and it's a real relief. I hope you enjoy the tree once you have it up.

Maybe some of your sadness is simple let-down after all the hours of planning and working on your projects. Enjoy your little mini vacation from quilting. Happy holidays

I don't put up a tree anymore, the last couple of years. We go to our oldest DD and she has all the decorations and a tree. We have lights up outside, so knpw thinks we are grinch.

I too gave up putting up a christmas tree. I had collected christmas ornaments for years. My mother and I would always put up the tree together. After she died, I just couldn't do it. I gave away my christmas ornaments. I do however make a christmas corner. Just some stuffed christmas animals, some christmas trolls (remember trolls ?) a few figurines and some snow globes. This has just enough christmas and is not a hassle to put away at the end of the season. It's cute, so makes me smile a little. Key words just enough. Not too much, not in the way, but just enough christmas to mark the season.

Oh my gosh, I have been missing my sewing too! I sew in the dining room with all my supplies scattered everywhere.
Although my Christmas tree goes in the front room, I had to put everything away because we are hosting Christmas Eve this year.

I just finished saying to my husband I miss my quilting. I'm thinking come the first of the year I will be right back at it.
