Nice room indeed!!
I have Pergo brand flooring like what your putting down and it matched the rest of the hardwood floors in the house and it has been in the kitchen for the last 6 years and I have not had the first problem with it. The only thing is you have to be careful with what you use to clean it and they have a special glosscoat (like mop and glo) that you put on it to give it a fresh waxed hardwood floor look.

WOW its coming along great...we have laminate in our house and so glad we decided to use it, its in the kitchen hall and dining area and one bedroom. Its the easiest to take care of and always looks nice.
