Hi Ladies,

I am hoping that maybe you able to help or point me in a direction I have not thought of yet..

I have been presented the opportunity to work at the Grand Canyon for the upcoming season, only catch is that I need a motor home or a trailer to live in. No accommodations such as hotels or cabins are available to employees. I have no extra money in the budget to buy a trailer, so I need one that I can borrow or maybe even pay a small (very small) amount of rent on for the time I use it. I need it to be at least 21 feet but would prefer 28 to 33 as I would be living in it from February 1 to Nov 30. And of course, I need room to set up my sewing machine It needs to be in good working order, ie the pluming must not leak, the water pump and hot water heater must work, there are no leaks in the ceiling or around the vents, have a good septic system without leaks (although I would be hooked directly into the drainage system) The heater is optional as I can use a space heater and propane tanks are not necessary as I can pick them up at any grocery store. Door must lock and the floors, seat cushions and bed must be in decent condition. ie, I need a good working trailer or motor home.

Does anyone have a motor home or trailer in Arizona they are not using and would be willing to part with for a year or more if I get asked back??

Sounds like an awesome opportunity- Have you checked the Craigs list for that area ? Wonder if you could maybe even find a small apartment , an efficiency even ?

What an opportunity. Sorry I can't help you with the trailer, but I hope everything works out for you. My one wish is to visit the Grand Canyon, they say it is awesome. Let us know how you make out with this.

I have tried Craigs list, but most of what is there are either things that are in need of much repair or the local dealer trying to sell new million dollar rigs. Sad to say, but it looks like I may not be going unless I can find something in the next 2 weeks.

Thanks for the help and BTW, yes the GC is a very beautiful place. We try to go up at least once a year. Nearest town with any accommodations is 40 miles away and it is mandatory that you have a trailer to live in. Boo hoo.. why can't I just win the lottery?

I believe some dealers have some to rent or lease. Look around. Maybe someone in that area has one to rent. Good luck! Sounds like an awesome opportunity.

Due to the way things work, you might do better to try to look for a rental split with someone else working in the Grand Canyon. If you split the fees for an RV rental you can get some thing that has room to share.

uh what a great opportunity! But 40 miles is NOTHING! We have to drive that far going grocery shopping or out to eat! GO for it!

I agree, but #1 rule is that you live on site, hens the need for a trailer or motor home

This seems odd that they would hire people and then require you to get your own living quarters onsite. Wonder how many people they go through trying to find someone that can make this work. Sorry I don't have any good news for you on an RV but they are very expensive to rent. Don't see how you could make any money doing that.
