Default Traveling to Acnhorage Alaska Looking for quilt shop/access to machine

Traveling to Anchorage first week in October. Would like to visit nice quilt store, perhaps some one or one of these stores would let me sew on a used machine at their store for a few days. I am working on a quilt for my 93 yr. old Mom.....it has fabric photos of her family in it. I would like to sew while husband is in conference for 5 days.
Carrying a machine is not an option. I am traveling from Texas to AK with 3 hour plus layovers along the way. Ugh.
I am looking forward to AK....Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Thank you Diana

There are many quilt shops in Anchorage. They are all very friendly and ready to help. I'd suggest calling ahead of time to all of them to see if any could be accommodating.

There are three shops that come to mind with areas for classes, etc. Quilt Tree (quilttree.com), Quilt Zone (alaskaquiltzone.com) and Seams Like Home (akseams.com). There is also the Quilted Raven (quiltedravenalaska.com) and of course JoAnn Fabrics (2 locations). There are unique features to them all. Spread your wings and enjoy!
