Thanks for sharing your photos with us. Spain was really a nice visit for me. Some of the area between Madrid and Barcelona reminds me of parts of Texas. And after spending a month touring all those mountainous areas it was so nice to be where the land reminded me of home.

Thanks for putting a picture to what little I know about Spanish history.
Yes trains would be a good alternative for travel, but can you imagine how totally expensive it would be to set up that system and maintain it now?

Most of the time, I envy the Europeans their transportation system. It was so easy to get around in the cities and from one city to another, or countries for that matter.

But, I'm glad I have my trusty car here in the US, otherwise I would not get anywhere!

Beautiful pics Elle! I so enjoy going on your trips (with you)! Those fans must have been inspirational for your fan project- hint, hint! And those ribbon plates!!! I love those! Wouldn't they make a great medallion quilt pattern!

I hadn't thought about the modern parts being only 35 yrs. or so old..makes it truly more amazing. Thanks so much for sharing your pics. Now I'm looking forward to seeing the quilt pics from your friend.

What beautiful pictures. I have been to Barcelona and I loved it. We were on a cruise so we only had one day there. I would love to see more of Spain. Thank you so much for sharing.
