Two of my boys!

This is my 8yo ds and our 5mo Great Pyr pup. They love each other so much! And yes the pup, Tucker, really is 5 months old in this pic! I'm expecting him to top out at about 140lbs when full grown. This is our 2nd pyr. We lost our 1st one to heart disease this past year. It broke everyone's heart. Dh decided right away that we had to get another. Tucker has definitely carved his spot in our hearts. These dogs get really big but are gentle giants....unless you mess with their kids! Tucker won't be full grown till about 2 years of age but he is already "guarding" the kids. He lets anyone walking down the road know that he is on duty and they better leave his family alone. My dh works out of twon all week and having a dog that watches us is helpful. I know that at night no one is going to be sneaking around the house. And oh the bark Tucker is getting. He's loosing his puppy squeak and getting his big dog bark. That booming bark will wake the dead in the middle of the night lol!

yes they are sweeties. the kids literally laid all over Bandit and are now doing it to Tucker. The dog just lays there and licks on them. If they get too rough he just gets up and moves. I was for years literally petrified of big dogs. I had 18 stitches from a dog we had growing up. Took dh years to convince me to get a lab. They are WAY too much energy for me! When it came time to get another dog I researched for months, talked to pet pyr owners, and went back and forth over the decision. Dh ONLY likes big dogs but the kids safety was foremost. After talking and reading and reading we chose a pyr and have not regretted the decision. They are wonderful with kids....course I'd hate to see what would happen if Tucker thought someone was hurting one of the children. And its funny the woman who was so scared of dogs now has 3 and all are in the house!
