mmunchkins - it would need to travel sideways too!

We have a tri level house with a very large addition that includes a 30x30 attached garage with a full MIL apartment above it. And that apartment is what I've converted to my sewing studio. So I'm hauling my laundry down a half flight of steps, across about 25' of kitchen/dining room and then up a full flight of steps.

I'll try using the lid, at least then nothing should pass me going down the steps

Macybaby, how about a laundry chute? Or more than one laundry chute? Hmmm...

My sister and a friend had laundry machines moved to small closets. Their laundries had been in the basement and steps were becoming difficult for them. Is this a possibility?
