Never read it was an apple, but I'm positive it comes down to our bodies breaking down from that original sin.

(My other line about the cruel & unusual punishment was an attempt at sarcastic humor. :-) )

My DH says he never wants to take another wife through menopause!

Besides, we have invested 35 years in each other.

My husband told me I had one day to get over it!................6 years later and he's still paying for that comment he thought was so funny at the time. This has been an interesting read. I certainly have the hot flashes and serious night sweats but I had never connected it to my sleeping problems. I have always had trouble sleeping but here lately I fall to sleep faster (wake up a min. of 5 or more times a night) and can't sleep late, even if I had worked till 3 a.m. On the rare occasion I sleep more than 3 hours straight, it's like a holiday for me! It also explains alot of my fogginess, I didn't know it would do that either!

I feel like I am being "paid back" because as a young woman I had it very easy...4 days and done, only 24 hrs of moodyness, very little bloaties.
Now: weight gain, very little desire for the junk food or sweets in general, weepy for a week prior, can't take the heat, and 7 days of yuck.
Afraid to laugh in public in case I have to make a quick run to the ladies room!

As my mother's friend once said "Golden years my a**, I think they're more like brass!"

Been having hot flushes all day every day for the last 10 years. Had a total hyster. 9 years ago.

Wouldn't have a sleep problem if my bladder could last out the night!

!! I miss my brain the most !!! I'd have to say the last ten years have eaten away at my ability to concentrate and, worse for me, ability to keep details in my head. Thankfully, I didn't go thru a lot of the other symptoms.

Where did my brain go? If you see it, please send it back. I miss it terribly! _  _

So sorry for you. I hate to miss my nights sleep. Guess I was one of the lucky ones, just sailed through.
