Carrie, you are so welcome. Hope it works for you! I used to have days where I really thought I was losing my mind! Like, a sinking feeling that I couldn't control. No more, thankfully!

Bella, my friends that are Nurses who recommended this product to me have had full hysterectomies. It is not a supplement of any kind it stimumlates your .... dang! can't think of it, starts w/an "m" ... that in turn stimulates your pituitary glad to make your OWN hormones so you don't need to take any. One friend asked her doctor, she's been on HRTs for 5 years now, I think she said due to menapause and she (her doc is a female) okay'd her to get on Amberen. So, check first but it IS recommended for full H patients as well.

Another very irritating symptom that I "had", thankfully, was that it felt as if someone cranked my furnace up about 20 degrees?! I didn't have hot flashes so much as I was just hot and sweat non-stop?! Well, I thought, "Yay! maybe I'll burn more fat?" NOT!

Your *flashes* sound like what I have had for at least 15 years. I don't sweat or turn red, just feel like my body temp is 200 degrees! But it doesn't last too long. As bad as I thought menepause was, I really think I had it easy compared to what most women seem to go thru. I had to go on anti-anxiety med's for my lunitic stage. They really seemed to help, my poor DH calls them my *nice pills*. Poor man, he must really love me alot to have put up with me during this stage of my life.

LOL! Melinda, my hubby feels your hubby's pain! You know, my anxiety almost did me in and the Amberen even cured that! It is a miracle find for me and even though it may not work when "real" menopause steps in, for now it's a miracle in small pills :-D

I'm glad you shared your "furnace" issues w/me. Mine just feels as if I'm hot ALL the time. I may flash and sweat MORE but it was alllll the time w/o a break! Thankfully, my furnace is only about 5 degrees higher than normal now and I can live with that! You and I are the only two I know of that describe their heat as not a flash.

I know what you mean. The hot flashes people have always discribed were different than what I have. But I figured each person was different. I knew a lady one time who swore she blew thru menepause with NO symptoms what so ever except she just stopped having periods. My poor dear momma thought she was pregnant at 49 when she skipped 3 in a row! Luckily, that was the last ones she ever had. I knew I would go thru it early, since she did, but the dr's didn't believe me. Said I was too young and wouldn't give me any help. So, I went thru it with nothing except anti-anxiety med's. Years later I'm glad I did it that way since the HRT is now getting a bad rap. I still don't take anything.

Oh Melinda! You just reminded me! My paternal Aunt who lives there in Sand Springs by you, said that she breezed through it w/o an episode of ANY kind??? Same thing, her periods just stopped altogether, LUCKY! However, very sad side-effect, she was put on HRTs, developed breast cancer, survived and has relapsed 18 years later. Last I spoke to her a few months ago, she said she was coming through chemo just fine and made me swear to never, no matter what, take HRTs :(

You are not alone any time between 02:00am and 05:ooam EST.

I do manage to get back to sleep about five am. I have always been up at sunrise but not now. Even as a teen when we lived on a hill I would watch the sunrise over Philadelphia.

I am trying to get back to my normal sleep times.

    I empathize,

    Quilter68

P.S. It started around 54 years old and I am 68 now.

I agree whole-heartedly! I've been having hot flashes for more than 6 years now, and it's getting real old. The worst thing for me is that I turn a bright, bright red from head to toe with every hot flash - VERY embarassing! I had a lady at church tell me one Sunday I looked like I was going to spontaneously combust! Now if that isn't disgusting, I don't know what is. I've also gained the big middle, but my thyroid decided to fight with me at the same time, and I've managed to gain over 50 pounds!!! I'm trying to lose it, but having absolutely NO success so far. After I let my supper settle, I'll be out pushing the mower up and down the hill to get in some exercise... Getting old is not for wimps!!

i finally gave in & went on the hrt....my dh came out onto the FRONT porch one night @ about 230 am & i was standing out there flapping my nightgown up & down over my head trying to get a breeze..... did i mention it was january & we were in the midst of a nor'easter??? i talking white out conditions...

not even mentioning the "brain fog", weight gain & mood swings

he called the dr & made the appt....i agreed to try them... they have saved my life...and his. been on them 4 about 4 mo, lowest dose they make & will start weaning off in another couple months... if the flashes & all come back i'll try again in a few more months...

i tried all the herbal stuff, unfortunately none of that worked at all for me..

my mother never had a flash & had her last period when she was 38...i want to be her!!
