Upcyclers and DIYers Question
I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to re-use my husband's circular fishing rod holder. I've already upcycled his tackle box---can't part with his circular fishing rod holder. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Cone thread holder? (If it is the single one, while you are fishing.) If it is the one that holds quite a few rods, how about mounting it sideways and hanging cut strips to hold or store for a quilt.

Depending on size of the rod holder...
It could be mounted sideways and use to display either a wall quilt or a folded up regular quilt.
Also mounted sideways-- Could affix cut rods or dowels (well enough that they don't fall out), and use it for hanging things with hooks-- strips of fabric, templates, ribbon, etc.
Depending on how stable it is, you could also make a side table. If the top isn't quite large enough, you could go to a glass place and have a nice piece of plexiglass or similar cut. For more stability, you could mount the bottom to something just a little larger.
You could also have a floor lamp made from it. You could DIY with a lamp kit or parts.

Had another idea. Saw a bobbin/thread spool holder online somewhere. You could put thin dowels (enough to fit spools and bobbin holes) and store the items on the dowels. Not sure how big your is, but if bigger, could work for the thread.
