Upside Down Pictures
#13
With iPhones and iPads, etc - there are 2 orientations that are right and two that are wrong.
The Home button (the circle on the front) should be pointing down or to the right. If it's on the left or the top, your photos will be upside down. They'll look right on the iPad or the iPhone because they read the extra information embedded in the picture and orient it the right way. vBulletin - the software that runs the QB - doesn't read any of that and displays the photos sideways or upside down.
The same happens with some computer programs as well. I use irfanview on the PC and it reads that extra information as well and displays things correctly. I have to save the file with the photo rotated correctly first before I can upload it and have it display correctly on the QB.
Android phones will have similar rules, I just don't have a modern android device here at the moment to check it.

Thanks for the info ArchiacArcane. I have this problems sometimes with my iPad and have never figured out what was wrong. I always process the pictures through Microsoft Picture Manager to rotate and compress, but sometimes the pictures show up sideways or upside down when I post them. Now I know the answer and I can do it the "right" way.
Thanks again,
Julie
