My fabric kept coming off with imprints from the ironing board. Oh, it also has a little rack underneath with a little fabric "box" to keep extra things in. Right now that needs to be cleaned out. I just wish I had a straight one. With that pointed end, you have to keep moving the large pieces of fabric to get it all ironed out.
When I use to iron and I wanted to iron a larger item like a pillow case or sheet, I would just turn the ironing board around and then iron on the wider area and put my iron on the skinny part.

I looked at that board, but backed off - I'm still using my mom's ironing board from 1946. It's so heavy-duty and solid, I'll never part with it!

My first ironing board...from a century ago had a hinged triangle on the narrow tip end so that if you needed a square ironing surface just flipped that up...sort of like a drop leaf table...had it for many years.......it was also height adjustable so I could sit, watch soap operas, and iron every Tuesday! It somehow got lost in the shuffle of a move...now just a "regular" one...but it is height adjustable so I can just sit and spin from sewing machine to ironing board......

I LOVE the width of mine- I have had it for years now, and would never get a regular size again! I use it every day, if not for sewing, for ironing my clothes every day.

I just found one of those 18 inch ironing boards at Goodwill yesterday. It was 7.00 and I got 25 percent off that...Glad you posted this. I know not what to do....Sorry you had to go through that.....

I have the same ironing board and Shark iron. I have never used the "iron holder" thingie. So have not had that problem and I did remove the "holder from the bottom. I would love to have the "BIG" ironing board but cannot not justify the $129 -$259 pricetag. Maybe someday?/ Naw......

My sister in law has no idea how to use an ironing board, much less an iron. If it doesn't come out of the dryer wrinkle free-then it goes into the trash.

There is a tute on here (I think) that shows you how to make your own big board and put it on top of your regular ironing board. I just covered a piece of plywood 2" x 4" and lay it on my folding 6' table. Works fine.

I have the 18" board and love it. Neither of my irons fit that caddy thing and I just took it off - as well as the shelf on the bottom - but I love the board and it is definitely sturdy!!

I also got an ironing board for a wedding gift ha. Still have it and we've been married 64 yrs. I've replaced the rubber feet a few times and the cover many times, but it is still heavy as can be.
