I have a oil painting in the dining room that Mother painted years ago. Never really liked it but hung it to make her happy. Now I'm going to take it down. The wall is red - any suggestions for a wall hanging for a dining room?

if you can think of a memory that makes you smile and try to do a wall hanging to remind you of that memory so you will smile when you walk into the room

well, here's what's in my dining room and i've been thinking about painting the wall red that it's on...it is visible from the front door but not from my living room...as the rings are yellows, i think the red wall behind it would look right... the roses came from a piece of upholstery fabric that i had and loved just for the flowers...the size was just a coincidence but a happy one... the second pic is the back and i love it almost as much.... design and technique is from cheryl phillips' book, Rings that Bind....

thank you sweeterthanwine... her book is really nice. Clear instructions and lots of choices...this was my first try so i did the simplest version, only one piece in the quarter arc, etc... she shows several pcs in the arcs as well as pieced, embroidered and fussy cut (like this one) centers... each circle is finished separately and then set together, so that you can quilt each one on a regular sewing machine if you like....

The roses are stunning. That is hands down the prettiest wedding ring I have ever seen.
