Maybe when something like this, naming a pet, animal, etc. gets very old the thread should be locked. I don't always pay attention to the date it was started. Maybe the person asking for suggestions could come back and change the subject to let people know what name they gave to it, just an idea.

Dixie is a great name. Dixie Chick and Dixie's Dude--good choices.
