This one was very prevalent in our area this summer- some poor people were taken for thousands of dollars. What creeps!

he didn't have the name, he waited until she said it, and then said yes.

I would string them along, saying, yes I will send the money - make them go to Western Union, wait, call you back, string them along some more - oh, I couldn't get out, now I really am going out to send it to you...lather, rinse, repeat.
