Now that I think about it a bit more . . . yes, the machine has a front and back, and I sew to the machine front. However, when I am working hard, ya might say I am behind the machine, as in backing, or supporting it. Additionally, when I turn the machine so that I am working from the needle side, (FMQ) ya could say I'm "end" to my quilting.

I do enjoy making quilts. I get a kick out of tricks to build the blocks. I enjoy the hunt for the perfect fabric for the recipient. There is such satisfaction in finishing them and the pleasure I get from the 'thank yous' I recieve from the recipients. I can't make up my mind which feeling I like the best :wink: In front of the machine or behind it!
