A handy filled watergun did wonders for us. Just was hard to keep DS#3,4,5 from using it on her when she wasn't naughty.

I heard of that, but I use a squirt bottle filled with cleaning solution. I don't want her afraid of me when she hears the noise.

Animals on the counter? I hope you find a way to stop that, but I have no suggestions. never owned a cat. Sounds awful though.

I have 2 cats, and they don't get on the counters (that I can tell anyway). However, they are allowed pretty much anywhere else. We travel as a pack - where I am, they are there also. (yes, it does include my potty time...)

I spent the first 17 years of my married life trying to persuade my Siamese that yes, she was family but she did not have all the rights that we did. I still miss her keeping me on her version of the straight and narrow.

Cats really just tolerate us, right? My fur baby, seven year old mixed breed puppy wog, has recently decided that he needs to scratch the carpet before he lays down. What's up with that? It is fine when we are camping, but not in the house. I've spoken with him about this new development, he doesn't seem interested in my point of view. We will continue to have differing opinions on this new activity and in the interest of economy I will win. I will won't I?

Cats don't like sticky stuff on their paw pads and double sided tape every 2" or so on a piece of cardboard placed on your counters will discourage them from going on them. I don't allow my two cats to go on my kitchen counters for sanitary reasons as well as for their safety...I don't want them to get burned if they jump on the glasstop stove when it's hot.
