Since this is the chit chat area:

I've lived 50 some years, asked various older people, and none of us ever hears of a piebald deer.
Well. there's a road my husband travels on to get to work, and though he often sees deer, one day he saw a piebald! We didn't quite believe what he saw, but after a liitle computer researching, i guess they're not that common, but do exist

Sorry I didn't read all the replies first so this may have already been and asked and answered - but are you sure it's a skunk? We fed our outdoor cats in the barn but it never failed, somebody/something was taking the lid off the food container and spilling it out on the floor. Wasteful! We even put several logs on the container and whatever it was, got into the container. Hubby put his game cam in the barn focused on the food. Found out it was a big raccoon doing the job. We now feed the cats on the back porch, container in the garage.

Yup...we have pet doors too, but ours are caged in outside so the dogs can run out to do their duty but not run out and chase cars. We had Basenji's and believe me...not the brightest bulbs in the socket!!

We used to have skunks living under the chicken coup. Just sprinkle a bunch of moth balls under there. They'll be gone soon! Also works for cats. Put in your soil where they like to potty! Just be carefull if you have small kids in the neighborhood. Looks like candy to some! Better to disolve in a small amt of water and spray yard...... hope this helps!

I'm about three months behind reading my emails (have been ill). But this story reminded me of the little skunk that got down in one of our window wells and couldn't get out. Dilemma!

The Fire Department told us to run a hose from our car exhaust into the window well and asphyxiate him. Hated to do it .... he was a cute little thing ...but ...

Next worst part of the affair was my neighbor--a devout member of the SPCA. She didn't speak to me for six months! Some peoples' values are topsy-turvy!
