We had done really good about resisting taking a puppy and had a million reasons not to take one. But we really miss having a dog. Our last dog, Sassy, passed away 3 years ago. So, with only 2 puppies left, the male puppy that DH has wanted since he first saw them, one came to live with us tonight.
Youngest DD could not believe it when her Daddy told her she could have the puppy. She brought it straight into the house, bathed it and wrapped it in a warm quilt I made and gave her to use. Of course, both grandbabies went nuts over the puppy. Thankfully, it is not a tiny puppy.
Here is Beau, short for Beauregard.

we don't have dogs any more and I love them. I am a retired nurse and writer and my fictional short short story yesterday was about 2 dogs. Might call for a tissue, in the beginning parts, but will surely bring a smile at the end. If you want to read it, send me a p.m. message and I'll get it your way. It is titled TIPPY TOES AND LITTLE BIT.

So far he has been very good. He spent all of his life outside, so being inside is different for him. He was quite unsure about the floors. He has had 3 accidents so far. He usually whines when he wants to go out to potty. But we also take him out at least every 2 hours. Beau seems to be a very intelligent puppy. The cats aren't sure of what he is. They just stay up on the back of the furniture in the family room and look at him. LOL!
