Our electric was off from 9:00p.m. Sat. nite to 1:00p.m. Sunday afternoon. No TV or cable & cell phone would not work. The winds this afternoon were terrible. I have a lot of work for tomorrow cleaning up, but thankfully no damage to the house.

I am so glad your electricity is back on. To me it is pretty boring when the electricity is off, especially when there is no natural light.
I am sure electricians from all over the country are in the storm-effected areas to help. I know over 80 Westar Energy people went to NY from here to help.
I hope the electricity lapse for all people in the storm-effected areas will be short.

Wonderful news. My nephew is in Manhattan and we have had not heard from him yet, but he was in a fairly safe place so we are not too worried. Thanks for letting us know.

That's good to hear, nyelphaba! I'm glad you got your electric back before nightfall. Our street here in Brooklyn did fairly well. Just some fallen branches and leaves, and some minor flooding. Our back yard was ankle-deep in water, but fortunately didn't flood into the house. We're still having a lot of wind. Stay safe, everyone!
