So glad you didn't have more damage and that you came through alright. I sure worried about everyone there. 6 years ago my DH was in New Orleans with the power company. He was there until the week before Thanksgiving getting power back to the city.

The only problem we had during the hurricane, fortunately, were numerous hiccups in the power. I got tired of jumping up to turn the A/C back on! :-) The humidty outside was brutal.

I'm in Mastic Beach (exit 68) and lost power 11AM sunday to 3PM monday....lost a big tree from neighbors in back which came crashing through my back fence covering my rear yard - what a mess, but we're safe, that's all that matters!!

Thank you, each and every one who sent their advice and good wishes. Thanks to all of you, we were well prepared. Thank you again.

Today is Wednesday. I'm just catching up on my Quilt Board messages. We lost our electric in the Wee hours of Sunday morning and didn't get them back until last night. We were well prepared with camping supplies so we could cook and have COFFEE. Tonight I cleaned out the refrigerator. UGHHHHHH. I'll tackle the freezer another day. Nice thing about the power being back is the stuff won't stink and I can do it a little at a time. I'm not buying a lot of groceries until I am sure the lights won't go out again. My neighborhood is still spotty for that.
