Update: ispection revealed that the house is full of dry rot and not well-built. Back to the drawing board!

Well bummer it didn't work out. I think with all the water around there it will probably be hard to find a house that doesn't have some sort of damage. Good luck on your future search!! Make sure it has an extra bedroom aka sewing area!!My son says they are looking at the Virgin Islands for a retirement home. He's only 28 so he has lots of time to look *LOL* and plan for retirement. crafty_linda_b
