I would think yes. Aren't we told to use the same thread in the bobbin as on the top. Again, you should experiment and see which works and looks best. You could even try very thin poly or poly cotton thread in both or a nice decorative stitch using poly thread.

Your topic reminded me of when I was getting married for the first time (only time) at age 44. Congrats to your daughter by the way!

Anyhoo, another friend was also getting married for the first time at age 46...2 weeks after I did. We were talking about our dresses,etc and she asked me if I was going to wear a veil or get Botox? I had to laugh out loud at the question! I replied that I did not realize that I had these as a choice! For me, neither! I wore a pretty, pearl encrusted headband. (I am not a "veil" or "hat" girl.) I still get a chuckle ten years later when I recall our exchange.

Oh, she got her Botox and she looked FABULOUS on her wedding day. She was/is a smoker and frankly, needed it. To each, their own!
