    Missy, advanced meal planning is what saves me with this weight loss. My breakfast EVERY morning is a low sugar yogurt and a piece of fruit, hot tea or s/f hot chocolate. Sometimes coffee.

    Lunch is tuna/lean meat sandwich and veggies/fruit.

    Supper is lean meat, green, red, or yellow veggie, one starch. fruit.

    Snack is popcorn. If I'm hungry.

    Getting rid of cookies, cakes, etc. eliminated a lot of calories in my house.

    Haven't read the book but I practice this advice religiously. My daughter HATES going shopping with me because of this!
    It is the only way we can control what we put into our mouths. We need to know what we are eating and how it will effect our bodies. How else are we going to lose weight? Just my 2 cents!

    Sounds like you are doing all the right things. My family now eats the way *I* need to eat. They do not even notice that I make whole wheat pasta and no sugar/no salt sauce. They don't notice that they drink skim milk or s/f hot chocolate. The only thing they won't budge on is soda. C'est la vie. No biggie for me.

    FAST FACT:

    Don't be fooled by a label that says "low-" something. Products that are low in one thing could be high in another, creating a food that's not all that low in calories. A small portion of the real thing could create a more lasting, satisfying memory than a large portion of a substitute that's low in taste.

    That is so true. I despise sugar free chocolates, no matter what the brand. One little Hershey kiss can sometimes do the "fix" for me.

    Well sure. Nothing wrong with a cookie or a piece of candy. If you deny yourself you will likely binge on something where just a small bit would have brought satisfaction.

    You are a smart low-cal, high-fiber, low-carb cookie! LOL!!

    FAST FACT:

    When it comes to comparing the calories of the major nutrients, fats provide twice as many calories per gram (9 calories) as carbohydrates or protein (4 calories). Alcohol provides 7 calories per gram so watch out for liquid calories too.

    FAST FACT:

    Don't forget to get your daily fix of fiber: Men up to age 50 need about 38 grams of fiber a day, and women in that same age group need about 25 grams a day. Most of us don't even come close to that amount.
