Hello everyone. Hubby and I got back from FL about an hr ago. I'm tired!! Becky's funeral was yesterday. It has been an emotional several days.
You would have all been very proud of me and my eating. I knew there was going to be a lot of food brought in, and usually a LOT of cakes. I had started mentally preparing myself before we even got to FL. I was right.....cakes, cakes, and more cakes. BUT.....and a big BUT here..... I had no difficulty at all, turning the cakes down. I do not like carrot cake, coconut cake or anything with raisins in it. Gues what kind of cakes there was? Yep....carrot, coconut and something with raisins all in it. NO PROBLEM turning them down. There was a LOT of chicken brought in: fried, rotissurie (sp?) and baked. I stayed away from the fried and had rotiss and baked chicken. yeah...... no fattening side dishes. I ate side salads every chance I got. The most fattening thing I have eaten the past few days was a smoked sausage biscuit from Hardees the morning we left AL, headed for FL. I did drink too much soda and sweet tea over the past few days, but I will double up on my water now and that will help.
There is still no news on James. However, the search continues. I will keep you posted. Your many prayers for Hubby and family, and James and family are so greatly appreciated. God Bless you all. Big hugs, Sandy

NannySandy, great job of keeping control under rough times. I never understood why there is always so much food during times of grief when eating is the last thing I can do. Food just turns my stomach when I am upset. However I love both carrot cake & coconut cake & no one else here does so I would have been so tempted! Hugs for you & yours.
I was in Fl last weekend to watch my son & DIL run a marathon. Much to my surprise I lost weight there!!! And that was with eating out every night but I made very careful choices. Iam down just over 10 pounds! Of course that is all holiday weight but at least it is gone, next month I'll work on some of the old fat.
