As much as I don't like "putting my weight out there", I have decided in order to make myself more accountable, I need to acknowledge this HIGH number. My weight yesterday, 1/1/11 was 262.8 lbs. Yes, I have a lot of weight to lose and it will take me a long time to get there. However, I will not focus on the long range goals. I will set small goals for myself. At least I am finally on the right track. Now, I'm about to have a chef salad for lunch. I hope you are all having a good day.

Oh hun do not feel bad about saying how much you weigh! I weigh over 400 pounds and am doing what I can. It is embarrassing for me to say how much I weigh but I do it so that you will not feel so bad about your own weight! Hang in there girlie. You will lose the weight. It might take some time but you will lose it.

    I was 245 when I started in June, I am now at 180. I went from a 20, 22+ to a 16 and the 16s are now a bit baggy.

For exercise I ride a bike, it's easy on the hips, knees and ankles. I also started jumping rope, and I am going to try Tru's suggestion and start Pilates. When it gets warm again I'll start swimming again.

I rode 25+ miles yesterday. When I first started it was hard to make it to the end of the block.

I was 265 6 months ago, now I'm 232. I started by giving up sweets and eating less at meals and the dropped. I've been on a platue for weeks so now So I need a new game plan. You can do it. If I can then I know anyone can.

I find this discouraging: When I have soooo much weight to lose, I can drop 20 lbs and no one notices. Not until I am down 30 or 40 do I get "Oh, are you losing weight?" Makes it hard to stick to the program. This time I am doing it for me. Thank goodness there is support from this group.

I can really relate! Because I am over 400 pounds it will take a lot for it to show on me. I am down a couple of pants sizes but still others cannot tell. I do have a number of before pictures and will take pics of me on this journey and hopefully soon some will be able to see the weight loss.

And Yes!! Thank goodness we have this group for support!

Has anyone tried to jump start their diet..
I found this in my search to find something like LA or Herbal Magic has called take off juice. This is what I found. For two days eat an eight of a cantaloupe before your meals, for these two days you can eat all the protein you want and eat all the green vegetables you want.. I can usually drop 5 lbs in those two days.
