Thanks Carol, do try to keep up the exercise, it is so good all round for everything, not just your heart! I struggled at first, out of breath and sore back and legs, feeling too tired to do it, but it is getting better each time I do it, it gets easier! Most times I would hit a wall on the return walk but of late I have not had this, the fitter you get, I think you will feel less tired! I have even started drinking water instead of my many cups of tea a day, this has got to help me I am sure!

I am also an asthmatic, for 17 years now, and have allergy problems, I am finding that going out walking regularly, has really helped my lung capacity, I just love taking in those big deep breaths of fresh air, something I have not always been able to do when my asthma is bad! So I can really vouch for the walking bit, my breathing is so much better for it!

But Missy darling....climbing up hill is GREAT exercise. :-)
so work to build up some muscle...one step at a time.
If you love me, no matter what size my body is...than you MUST do the same for yourself.

Love me enough to encourage me and pray for me even when you do not hear from me.

Today I had to have help even to get out of my bed...had to wait for someone to come help before I could use RR....humbling and humiliating. So much back pain...

Did not just take a pain pill and go back to bed for the day...
MADE myself move until body stopped fighting with me over the issue...took a short nap...unfortunately it was during today;s special episode of "Quilting Arts TV show 602...and I really wanted to pay attention, make notes and learn how...

if you want to see what I missed, go to quiltingartstv.com show 602. I am praying they have the recipe for the flour paste to spread on fabric and all the directions...was Sooooo kool, dying your own fabrics with watered down paints on top of dryed flour paste that had been scribbled in while wet, and then crackled when dry...

Life is looking up...and the scales are going down. Never fast enough..but everyone ready for item that now fits?

Necklace my family had gifted me with, and I can't even remember when, it has been so long...never could wear it.

Necklace cost them all a pretty penny...I am allergic to nickle, so has to be gold, and has medallion of family tree with a real gem stone for each of them...think it was a Mother's Day item...and until this last week, has just been sitting in it's original box...now fits LOOSELY around my neck. I was so happy, I cried

scales are now down in the 250 range...next month I am praying for the 240 range. Wanting to have PT work on building me up some muscle...so have started doing one step...literally...the same one step...step up with left leg, down with right...
next step up with right leg, down with left. I am up to 3X.

Had to work up from 0X...so this is progress since March.
And could not tackle step until I could stand, and then walk...

so please be gentle with my friend Missy...she is gentle and supportive, and loving with me.

    Grandma12
Oh Grandma12...such inspiration... Congratulations... keep working and you will build the muscle....

Carol: You should feel very positive about yourself. You are taking care of your body better than ever before. You are gaining strength, stamina, and a sense of well being. You are reducing stress, improving and stablizing your mood and emotional health. Is this easy? No, it is hard work. Will it end? No, these are life long changes you are making. In a little while it won't cause as much stress as it does right now, but this is a permanent change. So....

No more of this negative thinking. You are doing good things for yourself and you deserve credit for changing. Be as proud of yourself as you would be of your child, should they have tackled the same situation.

    Have a wonderful week,

Leota & Gal : Good for you guys. Way to go. 5 pounds in July is less than 1 pound every 3rd day. That is wonderful. 6 pounds is about the same. Woo Hoo for you two.

I don't seem to get updates on this thread anymore. I checked my settings and they look right. It's no big deal i guess since i can still find it. I am still here and working at the weight loss. It doesn't sound like i will be winning any prizes but I am so impressed by what everyone is doing. Good job!! I will continue my walking and healthy eating. Looks like about 1 1/2 - 2 pounds a week which is perfect for me. I just want to be able to wear my summer clothes before summer is over.

Leota (or anyone else who knows) does Stevia have an aftertaste? Or an off taste? I use agave syrup to sweeten my tea as it is sweeter than sugar. You can taste a subtle difference, but it's OK. I heard it is the same for Stevia. What is it made of? Is it a natural sweetener or an made? Thanks, Carol

Thanks Leota. I know it's the best way to go. I would like to lose about 25 pounds so that's pretty do-able I think. I vowed to walk and or some other physical activity every day and then take time for sewing as a reward. so far so good!

I don't think, unless you're under a doctors care you should be losing more than two to three pounds a week. I'm afraid to lose much more as I don't want saggy skin.

The one big benefit of my walking in the mornings is my dogs are losing weight along with me.
