Carol: Be careful. I know you are working hard, but 109 is very warm. Maybe stay close to home so you don't have far to go to get back inside.

I've lived in the heat my entire life, I pack water, and wear a wet cloth around my neck. And I only go 6 to 9 miles so I don't tire out. But thanks for the concern.

I got back early as I got a flat and had to walk about a mile until husband picked me up. I used a can a flat fix, it worked for about a 1/2 mile.

    Carol,
put a solid innertube in your tire... not as smooth of ride but you don't have the flats.

We have so many sticker weeds here my husband figured out a way to make the tire less suseptable to flats. He took the old tire and trimmed the sides off. Then he put the old tire tread into the new tire. Then the inner tube. Then he put a little air into the innertube. He had this stuff he called monkey snott. It comes in a tube and you put it in through the tire stem. Then finally you put the tire on the bike and filled up the tire with air.

This worked really well. He usually only had to do it at the beginning of the summer and the kids bikes worked all summer.

    Just a thought,

Only 2/10th pound this week. Kind of dissappointing but I did sneak a look on Tuesday and I was down 1.4 then so I hope it's just normal fluctuation and I will see a better losss next week. A better way to think is 2/10ths!! Yay! Another week with a loss.

    Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Light and refreshing, this dreamy, creamy dessert is perfect for steamy afternoons. Great for scooping into cones, the frozen fluff won’t melt as fast as regular ice cream. Change up the recipe with a variety of frozen berries or fruits, suggests Debra. Debra Goforth - Newport, Tennessee

    16 Servings
    Prep: 10 min. + freezing

    Ingredients

    * 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
    * 1/3 cup refrigerated French vanilla nondairy creamer
    * 1/4 cup sugar
    * 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
    * 1 carton (16 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
    * 1 package (16 ounces) frozen sweetened sliced strawberries, thawed

    Directions

    * In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, creamer, sugar and lemon peel
    * until blended. Fold in whipped topping and strawberries. Transfer to
    * a freezer container; freeze for 4 hours or until firm. Remove from
    * the freezer 10 minutes before serving. Yield: 2 quarts.
