I was putting a stick of butter on the butter dish when I noticed that the package weight was one pound and as I was holding that one pound in my hand I thought Wow thats heavy and would I want to carry that around with me all day. Well no I wouldn't so I put it right in the front of the frig and now every time I think I'll just cheat a little I pick up that one pound and then put it right back in the frig and concentrate on something else. seems silly right. It's working for me I just think how six of those look and feel, and I'm pleased that i don't have to carry six of those around with me anymore.
This is not silly at all. Hold a bag of "lard" that weighs 5 lbs. OOEE!! that will make you think real quick. It did me.

Evening everyone! Just thought I would check in. I have lost 7 lbs so far. I really love the butter visual! I also think if I had something to pick up/ look at it would motivate me. So I guess I'm gonna find something that wieghs a pound and for every pound I lose, I'll display it on the counter or somewhere. Am I the only one who once I start a diet, thinks I should lose like 20 pounds in a week?? I tend to be so hard in myself and it is frustrating.

For whatever reason, I'm not getting the notifications for this thread.
I have lost 1 lbs this week. I'm down to 142 now :D
DH and I started walking the park on Monday (1.5 miles) and increased out veggies. We are serious about lowering our triglycerides and cholesterol. We have to.

Hi everyone! Today was HARD! I went grocery shopping and I always, always buy a candy at the checkout. Well, today I tried very hard not to look at the candy and I didn't buy any!!!! Hooray!!!! But it was such a battle. Whoever knew sugar was this addictive?

YAY! For you. I started telling myself it is yucky and not good for me. I don't have the cravings any more. Its hard but it will get easier. Hang in there.

Don't be hard on yourself, take it one day at a time.
I grew up with everyone downing me about my weight so I refuse to be hard on myself. I am who I am and I just want less of me.
