The first thing I bought when I got out of High School and got my first job...yep, you guessed it. My own horse, Smokey. Loved that horse, then got married and sold him to a rancher that used him as the cutting horse he was trained to be till he retired and lived out his life at that ranch.

So happy for you that you have discovered the world of horses. They have always been my first love. Didn't take my first riding lesson until age 33, bought my first horse at age 39 (Dusty-he's my avatar picture). Sadly, I lost Dusty this past May. He was 28, we had 12 wonderful years together, and of course, I hope to eventually get another horse. Until then, I dream of when I can ride again.

I am glad you enjoyed your ride. I enjoyed riding when I was younger.

As a child we had stables at the end of our street and we helped clean, feed and exercise the horses. What great memories. I have always loved horses. All summer they had horse shows and during the week riding lessons. There is allot of hard work but when you are a kid it is just plain fun.

I found this picture of my Grandmother, the year was 1912. This was her horse that she loved so much. When they moved she had to sell her horse.
