what about this Brother for FMQ?

I have this machine with a Little Gracie frame. I LOVE the machine...never a problem and I've had it 3 or 4 years. FMQ wonderfully and the extra throat room is great! The frame is another story. It works fine but I find myself just FMQ on a table rather than going through all the trouble of the frame.

I have had this machine for probably 10 years and it great for FMQ. Has the needle threader but never use it. One thing you should know is it loves its rehular drinks of oil! I bought a speed control since its such a speed dmon. Make sure you gt the knee lift tht goes wIth it. I also think $500 is high. You can get a brand new one for $599 at allbrands.com. I love the pin feed feature.

That is so helpful with FMQ that it is kind of surprising that it doesn't have it. Not trying to be a Negative-Nellie, but wanted to point that out, just in case you consider that important and hadn't noticed that it wasn't available.

I own this machine and several others, and this one is my favorite. I have the knee lift and extension table. It has a button that lets you choose whether you want the needle left in the fabric or not when you stop sewing (needle down). It has a needle threader that took me a little bit to get used to because it's manual, not electric like my SE270D. I got mine along with a New Joy Gold Standard frame for $400 total.
