After I open the blinds and look through the dirty window I see the front yard and a big tree. I have to keep the blinds shut in the window because we face south and the sun is too bright!

Today, 12-20-12, we had 13" of snow with high winds yet to come all night. It is just beautiful, all white & clean. Ofcourse this is the first snow fall this year,
all most all schools and work places were closed early this A.M. This year I planted flower bulbs till Dec. 12th and last year we had the mildest winter I can ever remember. We live in mid-Wis. Asked me again after a few more mo. of snow.

My sewing room is upstairs, so I see my neighbors back yard.
Your view is much nicer to look at.

Mine looks very similar but we got 12-14 inches last weekend and it shrunk down to about 6 inches this week with the rain. We didn't get the snow on the north side of the cities so we weren't blessed twice!

A pretty site for sure Mary. No window in sewing room for me but through the door I see my DH scraping the driveway with the skidsteer. Milk truck (semi-truck) comes later today so like to have it all cleaned off for him to back up our hilly driveway. Corn stubble field across the road has caught snow between the rows. No school today although only received 6 inches. Wind on the flats (I live in the hills) blowing snow all around and more so further south of us.

    Merry Christmas.

Here in the Rocky Mts. we also have beautiful snow. But it is light and fluffy for skiing. I grew up in the Midwest and remember the heavy, wet snow there. We kids thought it was great when the power went out and we gathered around the fireplace to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Our parents didn't think it was as much fun to try to do all the outside work wearing ice creepers on their boots. Grandma moved nearer the windows for light and draped a blanket around her feet for the cold, and sewed and sewed. How much easier we have it now. We can enjoy the beauty of the snow and pray for the safety of those out in it......oh, and please don't forget that animals feel the cold too. I help the animal shelter and winter is especially hard making sure all are sheltered.
