I do most of the same things to save, I found a web site called "Hey it's free" and for 6 weeks I had enough free samples of shampoo and conditioner to wash my hair every other day. Some times they have free samples of pet food also. Always fun to get the mail in and see what kind of freebees there are.

This year for Christmas, I made drawstring bags of different sizes from scraps and leftover ribbon----for gift bags----can use inexpensive fabric or some "ugly" (if there is such a thing) We plan to use them year after year----so much easier than wraping and no waste----

My husband just reminded me of the time we had a volkswagen Bettle bug car. And it need a paint job. of course we didn't have money for that. So I bought 10cans of spray paint. All the same color. Taped up the chrome and papered the windows and I spray painted the car. My neighbors couldn'e believe what I was doing. Car didn't last long Husband blow the engine, so glad we didn't have it professional painted

I always watered down the OJ. When my kids grew up they didn't like the thick stuff !!

A retired friend uses one ply of a kleenex tissue in the place of coffee filters. We gave him some coffee filters from the dollar store and he refused to use them. Preferred to separate the tissues instead.

I don't use paper towels, put water in the dishsoap to get the last, the soap in my soap dish is in splinters.

The ribbed cuffs from tightly knit socks can be re-used as cuffs on jacket sleeves or added to the end of children's pant legs to extend the length or make warmer/more snugly. I've recycled dozens of toe-less/heel-less sock cuffs onto other clothing items.

I am compulsively frugal and don't waste anything! :o)

another thing to do with soap slivers, if you have a LOT, cook them gently with some water and press into a mold or baking pan. Let dry for a few days, unmold, cut int pieces if you made it in a baking pan. Let dry some more (weeks) before using.

I started canning again this year. I used to, years ago, can everything. It is so gratifying to make a meal from the results of your garden or hunt. Our freezer is full of deer and fish. I have a question for ya'll, though. I have a ceramic cooktop which you are not supposed to can on. Has anyone ever canned outside on their BBQ pit?
