Taught Sunday School and drove grandson back to Texas A&M after a weekend at home. We had a beautiful memorial service at church. Have you seen the fires in Texas. We live near the Magolia one and were grateful to see the smoke had cleared.

Made a birthday cake for a coworker whose birthday is 9/11 but we celebrated today, and went to the Atlanta Field of Flags event and took some pictures. Took a nap, too.

I worked. It was pretty uneventful. They had an awesome airshow in town and I was bummed that I was not able to attend.

My quilting buddy and I went to at quilt show, "Salute to America", at the Veterans' Memorial Building in Lompoc, CA. It was a small show, with beautiful quilts, and my friend won a door prize basket! Traffic was really lite on the way home, which is unusual on a Sunday afternoon.

My husband watches a lot of TV about 9-11, even when it is not near the anniversary. I find it hard to do.

Yes, I watched, almost all day. I was inspired by the grace and resilience of the families. I personally felt like I wanted to watch in tribute to the sacrifice made. I know others feel different and certainly respect that. For me, I was very pleased that the name of the person who planned it was hardly mentioned at all and only in repeats of the news from the day. It was all about tribute to those gone that I saw. I also finished a quilt that I made for local fireman to raise funds so, for me, it was all about remembrance. One of the best shows I watched was about the making of the memorial. It was so interesting to watch the metal workers and the innovations they came up with to save money and the techniques involved. I also learned about the tree that survived and has been replanted. I'd never heard that in the last 10 years!

I had to fly on 9/11. O'Hare airport in Chicago was busy, but strangely quiet. The people weren't talking much and not too much commotion. Security was normal but slower.
I was grateful to get home safely.

We watched some of it on TV. Made me think if that day 10 years ago. No one got any work done as we were listening to the Radio to see what else would happen.

I cried some tears watching people at the ceremony in New York. Especially the children that never meet their mothers or fathers. So sad, we will never forget that day.

I made a quilt from blocks collected in the red/white/blue swap, hosted by Carsey. I live in NYC. I try to give back.

I am in the Civil Air Patrol and had the incredible honor of being part of an Honor Guard for a piece of the World Trade Center that had been on display at a local air show. Tried to post a pic, but it didn't work. Will try again once I get home.
