Looks like she ate all the frosting. That's all kids usually eat off the cake, anyway.

    She is sure a doll.

We usually watch the storms come in. Hubby would be out on the roof if I let him. If we don't have power, I will usually just sleep. I love the sound of rain to fall asleep to.

The electricity power usually gets off during bad weather where I live..... so the only thing I can do is to dream about the next quilt...LOL

make a bunch of easy to read clues if she's reading, and create a treasure hunt for her. Hide inexpensive fun things for her to find.

I have an 1896 Singer Treadle model 27 that I *could* use, if only I knew how to wind the shuttle bobbin! I have a belt to put on it, but not knowing how much tension to put on it, I've never tried. The local SMG will come out and do it and adjust it but I just don't have the spare $100+ to have a house call. So sad as it is a beautiful machine and the cabinet is absolutely beautiful. (coffin top) plus I have the mystery accessory box, so it's abilities are sorta limitless. Anyone in the Tulsa area who could teach me to use it? LOL

I generally go through to make sure that I have candles & oil lamps in strategic places (living room/bedroom/hall). I light one candle if it's bad enough so I don't have to go looking in the dark for matches.

I also locate hand projects - sewing, knitting, etc.

PS - I love the kids & cake pictures; they are so cute!

Your daughter is darling and she brings back many fond memories of baking with my kids when they were little. (I couldn't help noticing her costume, either--FUN!)

I hope the weather has gotten better, if not here are some ideas I remember: play dough (PM for recipe, very easy), glue pictures using macaroni, paint pictures with Q tips and food coloring, have a dress up party with make up and nail polish (don't forget the high heels), make sculptures with frozen peas and toothpicks, cut pictures out of magazines and make collages, get sheets out and make tents with couch cushions and tables (one of my kids' absoute favorite activities)

Have fun, I know everyone says it but they DO grow up fast!
