I had been in banking for about 20 years everything from proof department key entry to commercial credit analysis. Now, I am a longarm quilter enjoying my home and saving on gas and time doing something that I love and that brings joy to other people.

I am an Industrial Hygienist/Safety Manager at the VA Medical Center. I have been in this job for 6 years and the stress level is way way up there, but it is rewarding. I have been an Industrial Hygienist for 26 years; 20 years spent working with the Army; 7 years in Europe and the rest of the time stateside. I love my soldiers and vets. My retirement date is April 2014! :-D

I recently retired from practicing law for 30 years; worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for 10 years before wising up and going to college and law school. Twenty+ years as a municipal attorney specializing in employment law. I'd had enough of the legal field! Now DH and I live on the Texas Gulf Coast in an old house that we're restoring...new kitchen is on the way!! Learning to kick back and relax.

Thanks for asking, I've enjoyed reading all about all of you.

The short answer is I am a massage therapist with my own practice and see about 15 clients a week on average.

The longer answer is that I am also on our County Office of Education Board of Trustees, serve on the Executive Board of the El Dorado Arts Council, and the mother of two and the stepmother of two...we have his, hers and ours, with the youngest being 13 and the oldest 39. I retired (LOL) from being an executive for a labor union so that I could have a more relaxed lifestyle. Prior to that....there's just way too much to count. LOL Real retirement was coming up in a couple of months, but then my DH went and got himself elected as County Assessor and we'll be here for at least another four years, hopefully eight.

In 2007 I retired after working 16 years in a 'major global bank' that received bail-out funds. I was a training director, and led a team of instructional designers who developed training materials for the US bank. My favorite part of that job was designing computer based training programs.

Then I became a widow, and went in search of a low stress job. Now working for a storage company, managing the property. It's an ideal job for me - low stress, lots of 'down' time, and I get to meet neat people (well, at least 99% of them are.) I won't get rich there, but I have medical benefits.

I was a Home Health Aide for 5 years, and lots of people told me I would be a great nurse. After seeing what all my nurses went through and all the paper/computer work they did, I lost any desire to become a nurse. I always loved the bond an aide has with the patients, as a nurse spends much less time with them.

Once I moved to New York I finally got my CNA certificate (Certified Nurse's Aide). But then this nanny job fell into my lap, so for now I'm a nanny to a seven month old girl.
