I would tell them that it's your fabric and your hobby and to 'Mind Their Own Business!
The next time that they bring it up tell them that you are not going to reply to their comments ever again as it is not a topic that is open for discussion. If they do bring it up again simply ignore them and hopefully they will get the message and find out that you are serious.

I say to each their own,if it makes you happy that say tough its mine and it makes me happy.Although you really dont have to jusitfy anything you think, say, or do.You are an adult and its none of their business

You could sell all your fabric, quit quilting and tell your children "Now that I have gotten rid of all the fabric and no longer are tied down to my hobby I can visit and do more with you all. Who wants me to come stay a week or two with them first?'' Just kiddin!!Why after all we do in a days time doesn't anyone understand this is our relaxing time? :hunf:
