My sentiments exactly. We lived in a 2 family house when I was small and they lived in one half and my mom, dad, and sister lived in the other. I think I spent more time at grandma's then I did at home

I miss the sense of family and tradition -
    hanging laundry outside to dry
    innocense (sp)
    being able to TRUST
    the feeling of being safe
springtime, and fall---------whatever happened to that?
    finding the comedy in everything
    wholesome movies and tv

Thinking about my childhood makes me wistful as I remember the long days of fun exploring the world. How I would love to have back just a bit of that energy!
I sometimes wonder what has happened to my childhood friends.

Being with friends from breakfast to dinner time. Riding bikes, walking, just playing. We had few fears & were so innocent. Parents didn't have to worry about their kids as they do now. We just enjoyed each day, all day. Had our family supper around the table together hearing all about everyone's day. Then after the kitchen was cleaned, back outdoors until time for bath & bedtime. Simple times, simple lives. I wish my grands could have that experience.

oh so many things! Our cabin up on top of Palamar Mountian, and the sumer fun we had running all around, swinging from tree to tree on ropes, swiming in the pond, the Sat. night barn dances, and rideing our donkeys all around the mountain. Our whole family spent time there, grandparents, aunt and uncles cousins, and friends. We had lovely times.
When not up at the cabin the bunch of us went to the beach. back in those days San Diego had great beachs, that were safe. and not too many people.

every birthday of every member of the family, was cause for a big get together, with ice cream and cake, and presants to see opened.

and every holiday, all the big ones and littles too, St,Paddies day presidents B-days,any thing just to get the family all together, I think I miss that the most, living close to most all family

The freedom and security! Had a wonderful childhood. I am 53 and when I was young you could go around the neighborhood to get other kids for a ballgame. Now everything is "organized". I was blessed with great parents.
