I am sad to say she died in 1998. I am reading the three Maryann series now...I get so lost in them ...

I can't wait to retire tonight. I worked all day in the studio, moving stuff and sorting. Changed my computer desk and had to reconnect everything.
I am also a fan of Sherlock Holmes and I think I have all his movies and Mrs Marple, Sir Peter Whimpsy, Poirot. and I have all those too.....

I haven't read a book in years, but my favourite series is the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel. It starts with Clan of the Cave Bear. Anxiously still waiting for the 6th book to be written and published..hope it happens while I'm still around :D

I love James Patterson's books also! . . . but for a different spin Mary Kay Andrews' books are fantastic! I got hooked years ago on Savannah Blues, then I had to read everything she wrote! I was not disappointed.
The Persian Pickle Club by Sandra Dallas was the first of the books I read by her. LOVE, LOVE them! How could you not want to read a book with such a wacky name as that! The plot is set in a farming community in Kansas in the 1930s. Local ladies meet to share hardships, gossip, and put their quilting skills to good use. Another book was Alice's Tulips and it was even better! I've read all of them and Sandra Dallas gets better and better. The last two I read were Prayers for Sale - not what I thought - but a GREAT read, and Whiter Than Snow-very thought provoking. Her books are all wonderful and provide greater variety than Jennifer Chiverinia's books. Although, I enjoyed the first few that she did as well.

I just finished reading Robin Oliveira's book...."My Name is Mary Sutter" It was set during the civil war. Mary Sutter was a midwife who wants to become a surgeon/ doctor. It was a very eye opening book. I highly recommend it!!

I just finished Winter Garden. Took place during WW11 about a woman in Russia during the Stalin years and what she went thru. She tells it thru fairy tales to her daughters. It was pretty enlightening as to what some people went thru back then. I was wiped when I finished it. Don't remember the author. It was a young woman who wrote it.
